CONECT House Meeting

March 15, 2022 - 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

The CONECT Core team at B’nai Israel invites you to an online “house meeting” to provide an internal forum for congregants to share stories about issues that are currently impacting them and their loved ones and that they feel CONECT could potentially address on a community-wide basis. Any congregant is welcome to attend either meeting. The first option will be 5:30 pm on Wednesday February 23rd, and the second option is Tuesday, March 15 at 7:30. Please email Emily Lehrman (emilylehrman@gmail.com) or Jeff Schwartz (jeff.schwartz2991@gmail.com) if you have any questions or would like the Zoom link in order to participate. We would love to have at least 30 people at each meeting and will go into breakout rooms to keep the groups small.

House Meetings are small group meetings and they are one of CONECT’s primary community organizing tools. As the campaign leadership explains, “Establishing and strengthening healthy relationships within and across our membership is at the core of who we are, what we do, and how we take effective action. Our work is rooted in the stories and experiences of our members, and it is from listening to those stories and making space for the sharing of our individual experiences that we can identify issues and challenges that we face in common and can act on collectively.” After collecting and aggregating data from membership at more than 30 congregations, CONECT will distill the most common themes into potentially actionable items and decide next steps.

CONECT (www.weconect.org) is a non-partisan, interfaith community organizing and advocacy body that works on social justice issues. It represents approximately 40,000 people from across New Haven and Fairfield counties and cooperates with sister organizations in Hartford and around the US.
