Marsha & Bob Gillette Judaic Enrichment Fund

The Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) summer camps play an important part of B’nai Israel kids’ lives, creating experiences like no other where they make friends for life. Our congregation encourages our youth to attend the URJ’s Eisner, Crane Lake or Six Points Sci-Tech camps. Through generous donations from congregants to the Marsha & Bob Gillette Judaic Enrichment Fund, B’nai Israel offers scholarships so every kid who wants to attend URJ summer camp has the opportunity, regardless of the family’s financial status.

BIFTY/Greenwald Scholarship Fund

Jewish learning happens in many contexts. Our congregation encourages our youth to attend the Union for Reform Judaism’s Eisner, Crane Lake and Six Points Sci-Tech camps. We also encourage our teens to travel to Israel with NFTY (The North American Federation of Temple Youth) on their L’dor Vador summer programs and EIE (The Eisendrath International Experience), a semester-long academic and touring program. The Gillette Fund and BIFTY/Greenwald Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to engage in these and other Jewish experiences outside of our congregation.

College Scholarships

Fields/Nussenfeld Scholarship Fund

These grants provide funds for undergraduate students enrolled in a Jewish Studies class, students attending a URJ college student program, or students enrolled in Jewish professional graduate programs. These scholarships are funded through a generous contribution from Colonel Edward and Mrs. Marcia Fields. Contact Rabbi Evan Schultz for more information.

Jim Abraham Education Fund for Jewish Leadership

Funded initially by a generous donation from Jim Abraham, a past president of the congregation, this scholarship is intended for young adults who demonstrate the potential to be future synagogue leaders. The scholarship offsets the cost of their participation in educational programs and other opportunities. Contact Rabbi Evan Schultz for more information.
