We consider Merkaz, the Community High School for Judaic Studies, to be an extension of our school. Our high school-age (Grades 8-12) students meet with students from other area congregations to get a meaningful and relevant Jewish education that builds character, positive values, leadership, a strong Jewish identity, and creates a sense of unity with the Jewish people. Students select from a wide range of classes, including social action, text study, Holocaust education, conversational Hebrew, cooking, community service, dancing, music and art.
Within the context of Merkaz, B’nai Israel sophomores are automatically enrolled in our Confirmation program.
Merkaz helps teenagers develop the skills necessary to navigate a new and challenging phase of life with a firm foundation of Jewish knowledge and identity.
