Congregation B’nai Israel’s Bonim Preschool strives to meet the needs of all children. Some children may require specialized or individualized modifications within the classroom. In a very few instances, a child’s needs cannot be met by reasonable modification or accommodation, at which time the school may request a meeting with the parents to discuss options. The Bonim Preschool director and staff reserve the right to make the decision as to what educational program would be appropriate for a particular child. The expense of any specialized accommodation will be the primary obligation of the parents.
Keshet Means “Rainbow”
Keshet is a program of Jewish enrichment for children ages 3-5 with special needs and their parents. We connect with children who may not be able to participate in typical early childhood programs yet need a framework to encounter the synagogue community in a thoughtful, supportive way in a creative, structured learning and social environment..
Students begin to forge their own connections to Jewish holidays, symbols, stories and music, all of which foster strong Jewish identities. Simultaneously, their parents meet in a “support group” environment with experts and other parents (parents of kids with special needs often feel isolated from other parents because they deal with such different learning styles, behaviors, fears, etc.).
